The health system’s program specialists will work with patients to create personalized care plans to keep their aorta healthy and reduce risk of aortic emergency, according to a Wellstar news release shared with Becker’s. The approach aims to prevent aneurysms by monitoring and treating aortic conditions.
“Wellstar’s Comprehensive Aortic Program is unique, in part, because we are taking a wholistic approach to treating patients with aortic disease. That includes using new and advanced technologies to identify patients with aortic disease,” Jennifer Giuseffi, MD, a Wellstar cardiologist, said in the release. “We implemented new surveillance software that identifies signs of aortic disease when patients have other heart tests conducted, and we use these findings to track and manage the patient’s disease, increasing the chances of preventing an aortic emergency.”
