Grand Blanc, Mich.-based McLaren Health Care named Sanjay Batra, MD, inaugural system chief of cardiothoracic surgery.
In this role, Dr. Batra will advance a consistent systemwide strategy, strengthen cardiothoracic surgery programs across the system, support quality and patient safety initiatives and expand access to cardiothoracic and structural heart care, according to an Oct. 19 system news release shared with Becker’s. He stepped into his new role Oct. 1.
Most recently, he served as chief of cardiothoracic surgery for nearly 20 years at the Henry Ford St. John Hospital in Detroit.
