A team from Edith Cowan University’s Centre for Precision Health in Australia pooled and analyzed data from multiple global studies, cohorts and research consortiums to study associations between Alzheimer’s disease and heart disease factors, Cath Lab Digest reported Aug. 19.

The study’s findings demonstrate a genetic correlation but not causation for angina, arteriosclerosis, ischemic heart disease, myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease, lipids like cholesterol, high- and low-density lipoproteins, and triglycerides.
