The facility offers services for cardiology, cardiac electrophysiology, cardiac surgery, cardiac rehabilitation and diagnostics, among others. It also includes an outpatient cath lab and offers patients access to clinical trials.

More than 30 advanced practice providers and 30 multispeciality physicians from St. Elizabeth Healthcare’s Heart & Vascular Institute will staff the facility, enabling patients to see multiple heart specialists at one location.

A $7 million donation from William Yung III supported the expansion of the system’s heart and vascular institute. The new facility is named the Florence Wormald Heart & Vascular Institute at St. Elizabeth, after Mr. Yung’s mother.

“We’re thrilled by the opportunity to expand our heart and vascular service footprint with this new facility, complementing our multiple locations throughout Northern Kentucky and Southeastern Indiana,” said Victor Schmelzer, MD, cardiac surgeon and medical director of the Heart & Vascular Institute.

“This new component of the Heart & Vascular Institute will offer personalized care delivered by advanced, innovative technology designed to improve health outcomes.”
