Hospital implants 1st thoracic branched endograft in Georgia

Wellstar Health System implanted Georgia’s first thoracic branched endograft Aug 22.

This technology has only been used two times before nationwide, the news release shared with Becker’s said. Branched endografts allow blood flow from renal and other arteries that branch off the aorta to be preserved. 

Marietta, Ga.-based Wellstar said the minimally invasive procedure is a better way of treating aorta diseases.
