Montrose (Colo.) Regional Health has added a mechanical CPR device to enhance treatment during cardiac arrest.

The ZOLL AutoPulse NXT Resuscitation System delivers continuous, hands-free chest compressions tailored to a patient’s body. It allows clinicians to maintain circulation while focusing on advanced lifesaving procedures, especially during cardiac catheterization cases, according to a Jan. 12 news release from Montrose Regional.

The device was primarily funded through grants from the Mabel Y. Hughes Charitable Trust and the Western Regional EMS and Trauma Advisory Council, which supports emergency care across Western Colorado.

The device will help reduce care interruptions and radiation exposure during catheterization procedures while improving patient survival chances, according to the release.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
