The new test uses patients’ blood to determine levels of a protein present with heart damage and can help physicians learn if a patient is having a heart attack or has other heart abnormalities.

Timothy Colgan, MD, an interventional cardiologist at the Christus Southeast Texas Cardiology Center in Beaumont, told The Beaumont Enterprise the test has been successful abroad and in tests in research hospitals across the nation.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
