Virginia Cardiovascular Specialists has opened an expanded 12,000-square-foot clinic at Bell Creek Medical Park in Mechanicsville, Va., adding cardiac positron emission tomography imaging to the location for the first time, according to a news release shared with Becker’s.
The facility replaces VCS’ previous Bell Creek location, where the practice operated for more than 15 years. In addition to cardiac PET imaging, the clinic offers nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, vascular services and lab services. Eight board-certified cardiologists will practice at the site, according to the release.
“After more than 15 years at our previous Bell Creek location, this move is about more than a bigger building,” Brigette Terrell, executive director of VCS, said. “We designed this space to make care more efficient, more accessible, and more comfortable for every patient who comes through our doors.”
Dean Caven, MD, president of VCS, said the expansion reflects the growing population in Hanover County. “By expanding our diagnostic capabilities and bringing cardiac PET imaging to Bell Creek, we can give more patients access to the care and technology they need right here in their community,” Dr. Caven said.
