Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Browns Mills, N.J., completed a $108 million capital expansion and renovation project, and celebrated the event with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by hospital leadership, board members, donors and government officials, according to a news release shared with Becker’s.
The newly completed Phase 2 covers 22,350 square feet of renovations across three hospital units. The work converted one unit into an outpatient clinic with 13 treatment spaces, added 12 private patient suites — three of which are isolation/negative pressure rooms — and installed cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology labs.
Phase 1— the Olsen Family Patient Care Pavilion, a three-story addition that opened in July 2025 — added 36 private inpatient suites, including 18 critical care and 18 medical/surgical beds, bringing total bed count to 95.
“This represents multiple, concurrent renovations to provide a state-of-the-art facility that is focused on quality outcomes and people-centered care,” Jim Andrews, President and CEO of Deborah Heart and Lung Center and the Deborah Hospital Foundation, said.
The project was financed through a U.S. Department of Agriculture low-interest rural development loan and a capital fundraising campaign by the Deborah Hospital Foundation.
