Mon Health performed the procedure using Recor Medical’s Paradise ultrasound RDN system. The procedure uses a small balloon in the artery and seven seconds of ultrasound to reduce chronic high blood pressure and results in less patient discomfort, reduced fluoroscopy time, and reduced contrast load, according to a Jan. 1 hospital news release.

West Virginia is one of 10 states where the treatment is being tested. Renal denervation is currently in clinical trials.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
