Amit Khera, MD, clinical chief of cardiology and director of preventive cardiology at Dallas-based University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, will receive the Chairman’s Award Nov. 9 at the American Heart Association’s 2025 Scientific Sessions in New Orleans.
Dr. Khera founded the preventive cardiology program at UT Southwestern in 2004, according to an Oct. 8 news release from the American Heart Association.
He also serves as professor of medicine and co-director of the Familial Hypercholesterolemia Clinic, professor of epidemiology at the Peter O’Donnell Jr. School of Public Health and holds the Dallas Heart Ball Chair in Hypertension and Heart Disease.
