Penn State Health names cardiovascular vice president

Hershey, Pa.-based Penn State Health and Penn State College of Medicine have appointed Dawood Darbar, MD, as vice president of the system’s cardiovascular service line and co-director of the Heart and Vascular Institute. 

Dr. Darbar was also named chair of the department of medicine. He will step into his new roles March 23, according to a Jan. 6 news release from PennState Health.

He joins Penn State from University of Illinois Chicago, where he is chief of cardiology and director of the Center for Cardiovascular Research.
