After a fire in late May temporarily closed Highland Cardiology at Red Creek in Rochester, N.Y., the cardiology office is set to reopen on Aug. 3.
During the closure, only a handful of appointments were rescheduled, according to a spokesperson for University of Rochester Medicine. Rochester, N.Y.-based Highland Hospital and the Highland Cardiology at Red Creek office are affiliates of UR Medicine.
The fire occurred while the office was closed and unoccupied. While teams worked to restore and repair the office, patient care continued as normal, according to a statement shared with Becker’s.
“During the temporary closure, Highland ensured uninterrupted patient care by providing cardiology services at Highland Hospital and Highland Family Medicine,” according to the statement.
“Our team is excited to return to Red Creek and resume caring for patients in our community,” said Jason Pacos, MD, chief of cardiology at Highland Hospital. “I’m grateful to our patients for their patience and understanding throughout this temporary closure and proud of our entire Highland team, whose dedication ensured uninterrupted cardiovascular care while we prepared to safely reopen.”
At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
