Only two hospitals received a five-star physician communication rating, according to CMS’ Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems data.
CMS shares 10 HCAHPS star ratings based on publicly reported HCAHPS measures. The physician communication star rating combines data from three HCAHPS survey questions and summarizes how well patients feel that their physicians explained things clearly, listened carefully to them and treated them with courtesy and respect.
The star rating is based on survey data collected from hospital patients October 2024 through September 2025. The figures are from CMS’ Provider Data Catalog and were released Aug. 13.
In August, 197 hospitals in 41 states received a five-star rating.
Here are the two heart hospitals with five-star ratings.
- Kansas Heart Hospital (Wichita)
- Oklahoma Heart Hospital (Oklahoma City)
