Jeffrey Marshall, MD, chief of cardiology at the Northside Hospital Heart Institute in Atlanta, is retiring.

Dr. Marshall, a nationally recognized interventional cardiologist, has helped grow the hospital’s cardiovascular program and helped advance treatment for complex coronary artery disease, acute myocardial infarction, cardiogenic shock, peripheral vascular disease, carotid artery disease and other cardiovascular conditions, according to an Aug. 18 system news release.

“Dr. Marshall’s influence on cardiovascular care extends far beyond the patients he has personally treated,” Pradyumna Tummala, MD, an interventional cardiologist with Northside Hospital Heart Institute, said in the release. “He has helped build programs, mentor physicians and create systems of care that will continue benefiting patients across Georgia for years to come.”

He has also served as governor of the Georgia Chapter of the American College of Cardiology, chairman of the Georgia Composite Medical Board, president of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions and was inducted as a Master of SCAI and received the organization’s Mason Sones Award.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
