Curium is reintroducing Thallous Chloride Tl 201 Injection, commonly known as thallium 201, after production ceased in 2022.
Tl 201, a radiopharmaceutical used in nuclear cardiology, gives cardiologists an additional option for imaging in environments where PET and MRI may be unavailable or impractical, according to a July 27 company news release. It is commonly used for select patients undergoing myocardial perfusion evaluation.
The restoration comes after input and collaboration with the nuclear cardiology community. The drug will be produced at Curium’s Maryland Heights, Mo., facility.
