The American Heart Association and American Medical Association have recognized 2,307 healthcare organizations for efforts to address high blood pressure within patient populations.
The recognition is part of the Target: BP initiative. Jointly launched in 2015, the program aims to help healthcare organizations achieve improved and sustained blood pressure control, according to a Sept. 15 news release from the AHA.
The recognized organizations — 40% of which receive federal funding to provide care to medically underserved populations — collectively serve more than 10 million patients with hypertension. Compared to 2024, 495 more healthcare organizations earned recognition in 2025.
Of the 2,307 organizations, 60% earned the “Gold” or “Gold+” level distinction for achieving blood pressure control rates greater than or equal to 70%, and 37% earned “Silver” or “Silver+” level distinction for adopting evidence-based practices, the release said.
