Lawrenceville, Ga.-based Northside Hospital Gwinnett has expanded access to cardiovascular care with its Center for Aortic Surgery, a component of the Northside Hospital Heart Institute, according to a March 26 news release.

The center provides diagnosis and treatment for patients with complex aortic conditions and related vascular disorders. It focuses on aortic disease spanning from the aortic root and arch to the descending aorta.

The program brings together cardiac surgeons, vascular surgeons, cardiologists and advanced cardiac imaging specialists to develop personalized treatment plans for patients.

Surgical teams at the center perform advanced interventions for aortic disease, including aortic valve preservation and repair, endovascular stent-grafts and open surgical procedures such as the frozen elephant trunk technique.

The program also uses hybrid approaches that combine open surgical procedures with endovascular treatments to manage complex conditions when traditional surgery may not be appropriate.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
