Englewood (N.J.) Hospital is expanding its stroke care with a new device and two leadership appointments.
The hospital has added Siemens’ biplane imaging system, which allows intervention in complex stroke and neurovascular cases, according to a March 12 system news release shared with Becker’s. The device uses two X-ray cameras to capture simultaneous, high-resolution images of blood vessels in the brain. The technology allows physicians to visualize complex vascular structures and perform minimally invasive procedures with speed and precision.
The hospital also appointed two stroke directors:
- Justin Marcus, MD, a neurologist, was named medical director of stroke. His primary clinical interests are in inpatient neurology, acute stroke care and epilepsy.
- Joseph Carnevale, MD, a neurosurgeon, was named director of endovascular stroke. He specializes in minimally invasive, catheter-based treatment of complex cerebrovascular conditions.
Englewood Hospital is part of the Englewood Health system.
At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
