Cleveland-based University Hospitals’ UH Lake West Medical Center in Willoughby, Ohio, has established a structural heart program and opened a cardiac catheterization lab.
The program will be overseen by interventional cardiologist Justin Dunn, MD. Dr. Dunn is the regional director of the Valve & Structural Heart Disease Center at the UH Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute, according to a June 9 news release from the health system.
UH Lake West Medical Center’s expanded services include transcatheter aortic valve replacement, atrial fibrillation treatment and percutaneous mitral valve repair, as well as peripheral, coronary and electrophysiology procedures. A hybrid operating room is under construction and scheduled to open later in 2025.
“Here, patients will find the same level of experience and state-of-the-art equipment as they find at UH Cleveland Medical Center — in the convenience of a community hospital setting,” Robyn Strosaker, MD, market president and COO of UH Lake Health Medical Center, said in the release.
At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
