Roanoke, Va.-based Carilion Clinic named four leaders to its clinical team: an assistant chief nursing officer, the inaugural director of its cardiovascular institute and two department chairs, according to a March 4 system news release.
Habib Samady, MD, was named senior vice president and Carilion’s inaugural director of the Cardiovascular Institute. Dr. Samady comes from Gainesville-based Northeast Georgia Health System, where he served as the president of the cardiovascular service line and co-founder and president of the Georgia Heart Institute.
Connette Gill, MSN, RN, was named assistant chief nursing officer at Carilion Medical Center. She most recently served as CNO of Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford, N.C.
Rosemarie Fernandez, MD, was named chair of the department of emergency medicine for Carilion Clinic and the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. She previously worked as the executive vice chair for the department of emergency medicine at Gainesville-based University of Florida.
Grant Greenberg, MD, was named chair of the department of family and community medicine at Carilion Clinic and the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. He joins the system from Allentown, Pa.-based Lehigh Valley Health Network, where he had served as the Leonard Parker Pool Endowed Chair of Family Medicine since 2016.
