Dr. Mascio, who joins the health system from Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, will oversee cardiac services at WVU Medicine Children’s Heart Center, located in the new 150-bed children’s hospital on the health system’s main campus.

At Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Dr. Mascio was an attending surgeon in the cardiac center and associate clinical chief of the division of pediatric cardiothoracic surgery.

“Our goal is to provide West Virginians with the world-class care they deserve and make it so that no child has to leave the state for congenital heart care, whether that’s an open-heart operation, a cardiac catheterization, or a noninvasive procedure,” said Amy Bush, RN, Chief operating officer at WVU Medicine Children’s.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
