Richmond, Va.-based VCU Health broke ground on the Pauley Heart Center Pavilion, a new outpatient cardiovascular facility set to open in 2028.

The pavilion will span 93,000 square feet and be built on a seven-acre site near VCU Health’s Brook Road Campus. It will include more than 450 surface-level parking spaces, according to an April 29 system news release.

The project aims to expand access to cardiovascular services and reduce wait times for complex imaging and specialty consultations. The two-story facility will centralize diagnostic imaging, procedural care, cardiac rehabilitation, lab services and clinical research in one location.

The pavilion will support growing demand for cardiovascular care while integrating research, education and clinical services, according to the release.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
