The achievement was generated by a 36% increase in heart transplants performed at the Vanderbilt Transplant Center between 2023 and 2024, 10 of which were pediatric procedures, according to a Jan. 13 news release from VUMC.

More than 500 patients from 15 states were referred to Vanderbilt for transplant consideration in 2024. The medical center has “advanced organ preservation technologies” and often accepts organs declined by other centers, the release said.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
