Chicago-based University of Illinois named Adhir Shroff, MD, interim chief of its division of cardiology.
Dr. Shroff currently serves as chief of clinical service for the cardiology department and chief of interventional cardiology, according to a March 19 system news release. He has also served as a professor of clinical medicine at the university since 2004 and is a national leader in radial-artery catheterization.
He succeeds Dawood Darbar, MD, who was named chair of medicine at Penn State College of Medicine and Penn State Health in March. Dr. Darbar will also serve as co-director of the Heart and Vascular Institute and vice president of Penn State Health’s cardiovascular service line.
