MedAxiom, an American College of Cardiology company, surveyed 198 programs, which comprise 5,806 cardiology providers, about compensation data for 2022. Providers included in the survey work in cardiology (85%), cardiac surgery (10%) and vascular surgery (5%).
The highest-paid cardiologists were in the South (median pay $698,881) and the lowest paid were in the Northeast (median pay $548,192). Overall, the median pay shifted only slightly from 2021 to 2022.

Electrophysiologists — $714,976
Interventional — $709,714
Invasive noninterventional — $662,006
General and noninvasive — $585,849
Advanced heart failure — $575,000
