Wichita Falls, Texas-based United Regional has launched the United Regional Heart Center, rebranding its former heart clinic and expanding cardiology services.

As part of the expansion, cardiologists Andre Desire, MD, Fardin Djafari, MD, and Vedampattu Ganeshram, MD, joined United Regional Physician Group. They will continue seeing patients at the same location to ensure continuity of care, according to a Jan. 23 news release.

The cardiology team now comprises four physicians, up from one. Chukwudi Obiagwu, MD, who joined United Regional in summer 2025, remains with the program. Additional cardiologists are expected to join later this year.

The heart center is part of a broader cardiac program that also includes cardiothoracic surgeons Shahab Akvan, MD, and Patrick Roughneen, MD, along with cardiopulmonary rehabilitation services.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
