Joseph Wu, MD, has been named president of the American Association of University Cardiologists.
Dr. Wu is director of the Stanford (Calif.) Cardiovascular Institute and holds the Simon H. Stertzer, MD, Professorship in medicine and radiology. He is renowned for his research in cardiovascular genomics, stem cell biology and precision medicine, according to a Jan. 26 news release.
As president of the association, Dr. Wu will help lead a national group of academic cardiologists focused on advancing cardiovascular research and training. He is among the most cited researchers in cardiovascular science.
