Smidt Heart Institute at Cedars-Sinai taps new leader

Los Angeles-based Smidt Heart Institute at Cedars-Sinai named Susan Cheng, MD, chair of the cardiology department.

In the role, Dr. Cheng, a clinician-scientist, will oversee strategic clinical, research and educational growth for the department, according to a March 6 system news release. She will also hold the Stephen R. Corday, MD, Distinguished Chair in Cardiology. 

She succeeds Christine Albert, MD.
