Dr. Fuster’s contributions to cardiovascular medicine are “unparallelled,” according to a May 28 New York City-based Mount Sinai news release. He built what is now known as Mount Sinai Fuster Heart Hospital into a world-leading center for cardiovascular care and cardiac surgery. He also helped develop cardiovascular polypills.
Dr. Fuster has earned several awards through the decades for his research into cardiovascular diseases and their origins.
