Jackson-based University of Mississippi Medical Center received a $9 million gift to support pediatric cardiology at its Children’s Heart Center.
The gift was given by Priscilla and David O’Donnell, with $4 million given to establish a permanent endowment to support the children’s heart program in perpetuity, and $5 million to help grow the hospital, according to a June 8 system news release.
The Children’s Heart Center has been renamed in recognition of the gift to Children’s of Mississippi Priscilla and David O’Donnell Heart Center. The center will offer comprehensive cardiovascular specialty care from fetal diagnosis through adolescence.
