The hospital will be the only one in the area offering tertiary heart care, the hospital said in a news release shared with Becker’s. Two of the new facilities are coronary labs, two are electrophysiology labs and one is a hybrid lab that can be flexed based on need.

“We’re seeing more patients with complex, often overlapping heart problems as they age,” Stephen Huddleston, MD, PhD, M Health Fairview cardiothoracic surgeon said in the news release. “These more advanced conditions require even greater collaboration between cardiologists and cardiac surgeons. Our new facility allows patients to have nonsurgical and surgical procedures all in the same room.”
