Step One Foods products are high in fiber, omega-3s and antioxidants. The mostly plant-based foods come in snack bars, smoothies and breakfast items, according to the report.
The Mayo Clinic and University of Manitoba put the foods through clinical trials. Dr. Klodas said the trials showed patients who consume two servings of Step One products in place of other foods can see an average bad cholesterol reduction of 9 percent in 30 days.
