Heart Failure Society of America selects new officers, board members

The Heart Failure Society of America recently appointed Kenneth Margulies, MD, a professor at Philadelphia-based University of Pennsylvania, as the board of directors’ president-elect for the 2024-25 cycle, according to a July 18 news release from the organization.

Michael Felker, MD, a professor at the Duke Clinical Research Institute in Durham, N.C., will serve as president during that time, and Dr. Margulies will become HFSA president for the 2025-26 cycle. 

Mitchell Psotka, MD, PhD, section chief of heart failure and transplant for Falls Church, Va.-based Inova Health System, and Martha Abshire Saylor, PhD, RN, an assistant professor at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, have joined the HFSA board of directors as members.

Colleen McIlvennan, PhD, DNP, an associated professor at Aurora-based University of Colorado, will continue to serve as HFSA secretary until 2026.
