HCA hospital increases cardiac, vascular surgical capacity

Fort Lauderdale-based HCA Florida Healthcare’s Mercy Hospital in Miami has opened four new operating rooms, including one dedicated to cardiac and vascular care.

The rooms are part of a $100 million capital expenditure initiative and bring the hospital’s total operating room capacity to 16, according to a Feb. 3 news release from the health system.

The hybrid cardiac and vascular care operating room will be “equipped with cutting-edge technology to deliver advancements in these critical service lines,” HCA Florida Mercy Hospital CEO Allyssa Tobitt said in the release.
