Margate-based HCA Florida Northwest Hospital added renal denervation procedures to its cardiovascular services.
Renal denervation helps lower blood pressure by targeting overactive nerves around the renal arteries, according to a system news release posted on South Florida Hospital News. The procedure is for select patients whose high blood pressure remains difficult to control after lifestyle changes and medication.
“Bringing renal denervation to our hospital gives our cardiovascular team another option to consider when developing individualized treatment plans for patients with hypertension, while allowing patients to access advanced care close to home,” Kenneth Jones, CEO of HCA Florida Northwest Hospital, said in the release.
