Puneet Khana, MD, director of Eisenhower’s transcatherter valve program, was among the surgeons who performed the procedure.

“It’s actually been probably one of the most gratifying things I’ve been involved with in my 30 year career so far,” Dr. Khana told local news station KESQ-TV. “It is transformational technology. This was something that could only have been achieved previously by a very big operation where we open the chest and replace the valve surgically.”

Eisenhower Health is the only hospital in California’s Coachella Valley to offer TAVR procedures.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
