As part of the initiative, the Alice L. Walton Foundation plans to develop an outpatient center for specialty care, including cardiac services, in Bentonville, Ark.
Mercy and Cleveland Clinic are partnering to open a cardiovascular center on Mercy’s Rogers, Ark., campus, according to a Sept. 24 news release from Cleveland Clinic.
The Heartland Whole Health Institute will collaborate with the hospitals to ensure the new cardiovascular center considers all aspects of patient care, the release said.
Mercy and the Alice L. Walton Foundation will each contribute $350 million to create the Northwest Arkansas healthcare hub, aiming to “reduce the $950 million currently lost annually due to patients seeking specialty care outside of Northwest Arkansas,” according to the release.
