The Heart and Mind Wellbeing center provides psychological support and mental healthcare tailored to patients and families of all ages from prenatal cardiac diagnosis to adults born with heart disease. The center provides treatment focused on improving both physical and mental health and helps families navigate the challenges of the disease with the help of psychologists, social workers and child life specialists.
“Congenital heart disease can profoundly affect families emotionally,” Nadine Kasparian, PhD, psychologist and director of Cincinnati Children’s Heart and Mind Wellbeing Center, said in the release. “Our goal is to support patients and families through diagnosis, treatment and transitions, so they feel informed, empowered, and supported at every stage.”
