Washington, D.C.-based Children’s National named Lillian Su, MD, the MacCutcheon Family Professor of Cardiac Critical Care Medicine.
With this endowed professorship, Dr. Su, who also serves as chief of the Division of Cardiac Critical Care Medicine at the hospital, plans to advance the use of predictive analytics and technology to help care teams identify risk sooner and guide decision making for children with complex heart conditions, according to an Aug. 25 hospital news release. She will also build new tools to improve outcomes and patient experience.
“I am honored to serve as The MacCutcheon Family Professor of Cardiac Critical Care Medicine and grateful for the family’s generosity,” Dr. Su said in the release. “Every child who enters our unit has a unique story. My hope is to use technology and data to help us see that story more clearly, make better decisions and help more children with complex heart conditions return home healthy and thriving.”
