Cardiology practice, medical group partner on clinic — 5 things to know

A new clinic in Mattoon, Ill., is home to providers from Prairie Cardiovascular, Effingham Daily News reports.

Five things to know:

1. HSHS Medical Group and Prairie Cardiovascular opened the clinic — HSHS Medical Group Multispecialty Care-Mattoon — in partnership. Both are based in Springfield, Ill.

2. Prairie Cardiovascular specialists John Scherschel, MD, Amit Dande, MD, and Jason Trager, DO, are providing cardiology consultations and follow-up care at the new facility five days a week.

3. Two family medical physicians at the clinic are accepting patients as walk-ins and by appointment.

4. HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Ill., handles the clinic’s imaging services.

5. In mid-July, orthopedic surgeon John Powell, MD, will begin providing outreach services. OB-GYN services and other specialties will be added in the future.
