JACC: Advances, a medical journal associated with the American College of Cardiology, has selected Dinesh Kalra, MD, as its incoming editor-in-chief.
Dr. Kalra currently serves as chief of the division of cardiovascular medicine and professor of medicine at the University of Louisville (Ky.) Medical Center. He also holds several leadership roles across the organization, including chair of the quality assurance committee for cardiology and vice chair for quality in the department of medicine, according to a Jan. 12 news release.
He will succeed the journal’s current editor, though no transition date was specified. As editor-in-chief, Dr. Kalra plans to broaden the journal’s scope to include cardiometabolic disease, precision medicine, population and implementation science, wearable technologies and data science.
Dr. Kalra is the incoming chair of the American College of Cardiology’s Board of Governors.
