Through a program dubbed “Change of Heart,” Dr. Becker worked with patients to switch to the diet, which in combination with exercise, led to a 40 percent lower LDL level on average for those involved.

Dr. Becker died Aug. 20 from brain cancer, according to the news outlet.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
