As of May 2024, the mean annual wage for cardiologists in the U.S. was $432,490, according to data published April 2 by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Cardiologists in West Virginia earned the lowest mean annual wage of $276,750 while Indiana cardiologists earned the highest at $529,020.
New York employed the most cardiologists, at 2,260, and North Dakota employed the fewest at 40.
Of all cardiologists, 12,210 were employed by physician’s offices, 4,950 by general medical and surgical hospitals, 300 by outpatient care centers, 40 by specialty hospitals and 40 by medical and diagnostic laboratories.
