Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Broward Health raised $9 million at an annual fundraising event, the majority of which will go to enhancing the system’s cardiovascular service line.

It is the most money raised in the event’s 12-year history, according to an April 7 news release from the health system.

Of the $9 million, $5.2 million will be used to build a new electrophysiology lab and acquire two Siemens Artis Icono systems for the Broward Health Medical Center. An additional $2 million will be used to purchase cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology equipment, the release said.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
