Boston Children’s Hospital named Rahul Rathod, MD, chair of the department of cardiology and cardiologist-in-chief, effective Aug. 1.
Dr. Rathod is an internationally recognized pediatric cardiologist and physician-scientist who founded the multidisciplinary Fontan at Boston Clinic that serves patients from more than 26 states, according to a Sept. 16 system news release shared with Becker’s. He is also the founder and executive director of the Fontan Outcomes Registry using Clinical Examinations, the largest Fontan dataset in the world.
In his new role, he will accelerate innovation across clinical care, research, education and collaboration across disciplines to improve outcomes for patients with congenital heart disease.
