Johnson City, Tenn.-based Ballad Health has partnered with East Tennessee State University, also in Johnson City, to enhance the medical training of students in the school’s cardiology program.
Fellows in ETSU’s cardiology program will now learn and practice within the Ballad Health CVA Heart Institute, according to a March 24 news release from the university.
ETSU Health’s adult cardiology specialists will also begin practicing at the heart institute, the release said.
ETSU’s cardiology fellowship program director Vijay Ramu, MD, said the partnership will enhance the training for the “next generation of providers.”
“This transition gives physicians participating in Quillen College of Medicine’s cardiology fellowship program the opportunity to train under a wide variety of specialists who are providing the full spectrum of cardiological care at the region’s premier heart institute,” he said in the news release.
