In 1957, Dr. Bullington also led the organization and implementation of the first physician-focused heart conference in the state.
“Using a cardiac resuscitation technique developed at the University of Arizona Heart Center, Bob felt privileged to save the same man twice in the same year (nine months apart) from death with a severe heart attack causing cardiac arrest on the golf course,” the obituary states. “The man lived 14 more years. The case drew national attention and helped to spread the University of Arizona resuscitation technique internationally.”
