Pittsburgh-based Allegheny Health Network established an endowed chair for aortic disease after receiving a $2.5 million gift from a former patient.
The Roe Green Endowed Chair for Aortic Disease is named for Florida-based arts and theater philanthropist Roe Green, according to a Sept. 22 system news release. The chair will support physician leadership, clinical excellence, research, education and innovation focused on the diagnosis and treatment of complex aortic conditions.
Candice Lee, MD, a nationally recognized expert in treating complex cardiovascular disease and performing highly specialized cardiac procedures, was appointed as the inaugural chair.
