7 cardiologists on the move

Here are seven cardiologists stepping into new roles recently:

  1. Edward Ladyzhenskiy, MD, joined the cardiology department at Jersey City (N.J.) Medical Center, a facility of RWJBarnabas Health hospital affiliations.
  2. Aaron Kugelmass, MD, was named executive vice president and chief medical officer of Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Brown Mills, N.J.
  3. Roger Hajjar, MD, has been appointed as the inaugural director of the Gene and Cell Therapy Institute at Somerville, Mass.-based Mass General Brigham.
  4. Aaron Kugelmass, MD, was appointed executive vice president and chief medical officer at Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Pemberton Township, N.J.
  5. NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in New York City named Sandhya Balaram, MD, PhD, chief of cardiothoracic surgery.
  6. Los Angeles-based Smidt Heart Institute at Cedars-Sinai named Tyler Gunn, MD, director of the Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation program in the department of cardiac surgery.
  7. Babak Razani, MD, PhD, joined Pittsburgh VA Medical Center as chief of cardiology.
